What is Manual Therapy?
Manual therapy is a form of therapy given by hands within a biomechanical framework. It is also known as ‘Hands-on Therapy’ as Hands are the main tools in this form of Physical Therapy. Special points are pressed to reduce pain. The direction of pull and force applied varies according to the diagnosis and treatment required.
Treatments used in Manual Therapy are:
- Stretching
- Joint Manipulation/Joint Mobilization
- Body Massage (Soft Tissue Manipulation)
- Trigger point release
