Cupping Therapy

What is Cupping/Hijama Therapy?

Cupping therapy is the procedure of creating suction via cups in order to increase blood flow in the body, ease pain, reduce inflammation and release toxins from the body organs.

During the process, the skin is pulled up to constrict the toxins in one place and after this pre-suction process, minute cuts are given which are pain-free and quite small. Thereafter, post suction is done to take out a small amount of blood – about 0.25 ml. This is done to start the process of healing and improve blood circulation.

The cups used in Cupping or Hijama are for one-time use, as this is a surgical procedure. Although in Wet Cupping with herbal water, and Sports Cupping, the same cups can be used since no blood is taken out in these procedures of water cupping and dry cupping.
